CREART
our roots, our future
In the heart of Tuscany, near Florence, there is a city famous for centuries for the production of glass and crystal: this city is called Empoli. It is here that CREART was born in 1968. The name is the acronym of Creazioni Artistiche and was given to the nascent company by its young founders: Natale Belli, Alfio Cinotti and Lanciotto Cappelli. It seems that in Empoli and throughout the Valdelsa, the glassmaking activity was already known, used and appreciated since the times of the Etruscan and then Roman civilizations.
The presence in these places of furnaces that manufactured the precious artefact, led to the birth of an induced group which, using local productions, began to embellish the artefacts with decoration or grinding and also with the application of other materials in order to embellish the product to increase its value and therefore market it successfully. Brass and copper were the most used metals but also gold and silver for the better off.
The production of Creart was immediately focused, in perfect classic style, on tableware and furnishing accessories. These productions of high added value, with a targeted marketing work, won the attention of the markets, both the national one and also in the foreign one, it was a real success.
The development of the business soon led Creart to need new spaces for production and in 1973 the company built a new factory in Martignana, near Empoli, where it is still located today and where its precious production of tableware and furnishing accessories known and appreciated all over the world.
Currently Raimondo Cappelli, Debora Belli, Gaia and Gianna Cinotti (children of the founders) are the new owners and managers of the company and carry on with skill, professionalism and lots of news all the know-how that their parents have left them. With a lot of effort mixed with enormous enthusiasm, the company has created new and important items, expanding the field of application of its products in the accessories, table, bathroom and furnishing accessories sector. The latest addition is the Riflessi line, a mix of fantasy, colors and innovative shapes suitable to satisfy even the most modern and demanding customers.
